Outdoor items, including by not limited to such as awnings, canopies, tables, chairs, umbrellas, planters, and trash receptacles, must be reviewed and approved by the Denver West ACC prior to installation.
Required Prior Landlord Approval
- Businesses leasing space must first submit all requests to the property owner or property management representative for landlord approval.
- If approved, the property owner or property management representative must submit the request to the DWACC on behalf of the business.
- The DWACC cannot accept requests directly from businesses that lease their space, or from any of the business's contractors.
Required Review Fees
- $250, to be paid via check made payable to the Denver West ACC, and sent to 14143 Denver West Parkway, Suite 100, Golden, Colorado 80401.
- Please include the business name on the review fee check, and ensure the check is delivered in a sealed envelope addressed to the DWACC.
- We do not accept credit card payments.
Submission Requirements
Please prepare a multi-page PDF containing the following items:
- Cover letter requesting review and approval. Please ensure that this letter includes your contact information, including mailing address.
- Site plan or aerial photograph showing the location of the building on the site and the building footprint
- Site plan detail or aerial photograph detail showing the location(s) of all proposed outdoor items, such as on a patio or sidewalk.
- Color specification sheet for each proposed outdoor item. The specifications sheet must contain an image of the item and have its proposed finish, color, or and other applicable options circled or highlighted. Please note that umbrellas, awnings, and canopies may include the business name or logo, but not other text, images, or patterns.
- Businesses with landlords must first submit their requests for landlord approval (see "Required Prior Landlord Approval" section above).
Formatting Requirements
- Format your request as a single PDF document, with multiple pages if needed.
- Format your request to be printed at ledger/tabloid size (11" x 17").
- Include "Page X of Y" numbers in the lower right corner of each page in the request.
- Place the DWACC approval block in the upper or lower right-hand corner of each page in your request. Please do not cover any information or images. The block should measure 3" x 4" when printed. The approval block may be downloaded here.
- If full-size printed plans have been requested, all plan sets submitted must be folded, not rolled.
IMPORTANT
- Installation of outdoor items without prior written DWACC approval constitutes a zoning violation and will result in a citation and possible fines.
- Depending on the scope of work, you may also need to submit a concurrent Tenant Signage Request.
